Cycles of Seasons Class – Preschool Ages 3-5 yrs.

It is important to note that the preschool child has a longer attention span and greater physical coordination allowing us to explore the changing seasons musically with imaginative play and movement. Compared to the family class, this class has expanded focused listening time, more complex experience with rhythm and musical language, and expanded instrument time. Take-home materials include a packet of Music books, colorful game cards, and recorded music. Parent or Caregiver participation is still important (and required) in this class.

Music Makers Class – Ages 4-7 yrs. (children 3.5 or younger siblings may attend with permission).

Music Makers at Home in the World is designed to capture your child’s imagination by blending the world of music with the world around them. Using themes of nature and international cultures, children are encouraged to explore new worlds with confidence. In Music Makers, your child will begin to read music and make connections between what they hear, see and play. This two-year sequential program includes singing, instrument playing and ensemble work, ear training and guided listening. Research shows that a solid music foundation can enhance academic success in other areas, including math and language. Parent or Caregiver participation is still important (and required) in this class.

Music Makers can enhance many aspects of your child's development:

Learning to control impulses, listen, and follow directions
Sharing and taking turns
Experiencing the enjoyment of practice
Using their imagination
Composing, improvising and teamwork (ensemble)
Participating in group music making
Understanding music notation

Please register each participating child separately (after indicating how many are attending). You will select your class day/time choice during registration.
